Infrared Ground Detection

I decided to use an array of 3 infrared line detection sensors to detect the presence or absence of ground in front of the rover.  This is an easy way to determine if there is a large drop in front of the rover.

Alternatively, it can also be used as a line follower since it has 3 detectors.

Note, the array is mounted under the front of the rover, but behind the farthest point that the bumper can move to.

The array can be lowered or tilted as required since it is mounted in a recess in the chassis of the rover and fastened with two screws.
